The Te-Cabin, Rauland

The favourite of the fit!

A steep hike with a fantastic view. 1,4 km return journey. Difficulty: challenging

The favourite of the fit!

Try the shortest route up the Rauland Mountain. Start at the farms by the Totak lake. Follow the trail straight up to the observation points by the Te-Cabin. From here enjoy the fantastic view of the Totak lake and Rauland.

Hike Description

From the parking area next to the road, the trail winds up to a lush birch wood and a farm gate. Remember to close the gate behind you as you are entering sheep grazing fields.

A few hundred meters upwards you will see a small waterfall, which is particularly beautiful during the spring.

The trail is marked and easily visible, and winds steeply upwards. Be prepared for steep inclines. It will be worth the climb because of the rewarding views at the top.

Grazing sheep = dogs on leads

Remember the mandatory requirement to keep dogs on leads from 1st April to 20th August. It is important that this is respected, as sheep graze in the area. The Te-cabin is private, so please be considerate.

How to get to the Te-Cabin

The starting point for the hike is in Raulandsgrend, next to the fv 362 between Rauland and Haukeli.

From the centre of Rauland: Follow the fv 362 for approximately 7 km. Approximately 2 km after Rauland Church, take the right-hand exit. There is a parking area right next to the main road. Free parking. A green information board indicates the start of the hike.
