How to Get to Hardangervidda

You don't need to walk far to experience Hardangervidda! 

Hardandervidda is the largest mountain plateau in Europe, and is about 201 miles acres.
Excluding Svalbard, the inner part of Hardangervidda is Scandinavia's, and one of Europe's, largest national parks.

There are several places along the Hardangervidda National Park Road that offer easy access and excellent opportunities to explore the plateau.

You can enjoy Hardangervidda at:     

A popular place for its views and a rest break along the E-134 across the Haukeli Mountain. Offers food, accommodation, and a perfect starting point for long and short mountain hikes.

A panoramic view of Hardangervidda! A road (12 km) and a short hike (1,5 km) to the mountain plateau from the south.

A ferry journey through a mountain village, with no road access, to the foot of Hardangervidda. Allocate one or more days to this amazing experience in nature!

Try the shortcut from Rjukan to Hardangervidda! Cable car from Rjukan to Gvepseborg (5 min) and Solstien (The Sun Trail) to Hardangervidda (4,3 km).
